Home Adviser Lieutenant General Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) at a briefing

Home Adviser Lieutenant General Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) has said, “We held a meeting of the law and order committee. I have given them directions. Law enforcers will start working from this evening. You will feel it from evening.”

The home adviser said this while talking to journalists after coming out from a core committee meeting on law and order at the Home Ministry at Bangladesh Secretariat on Monday.

“We don't want even a single incident of crime to happen. So, we have given them necessary instruction in this regard. The activities of the law enforcement agencies will be reinforced from tonight,” he said.

Jahangir assured the countrymen of their safety and security as they discussed the measures to maintain the law and order.

Replying to a question, he said that the law and order situation is now satisfactory.

“But, there is still a scope to improve further,” he added.

Replying to a query, if the 'Operation Devil Hunt' is being questioned as the incidents of crime going on, he said the operation was launched to take prompt action against any incident of crime as those could not happen again.

Jahangir said they are discussing the ways to check crimes in the days to come.
