Woman stabbed dead by mugger in Keraniganj 

A woman named Sima Begum, 40, has been stabbed to death by a mugger in Keraniganj of Dhaka. 

On Tuesday (February 25), she was brought to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 8 pm with serious injuries and was declared dead by the doctors on duty. 

Her husband Akhtar Hossain, who brought Sima to the hospital, said, “In the evening, she was returning with my daughter from a coaching center, the mugger hacked my wife and snatched her 2,000 taka and her earrings. Later, I got the news and took her to a local hospital. When I took her to Dhaka Medical College from there, doctors said that my wife is no more.” 

He also said, “Our village is at Mithapukur village of Madaripur sadar upazila. Currently, we live in a rented house in Ambagicha area of South Keraniganj.” 

Inspector-in-charge of the police camp of DMCH Md. Farooq said a woman named Sima was brought to the hospital’s emergency unit with serious injuries from Keraniganj. Doctors later declared her dead.
