2 suspected muggers hung upside down from overbridge

Two suspected muggers were beaten and hung upside down from a foot overbridge in Uttara by an angry crowd on Tuesday night (February 25).

The incident took place in front of BNS center of Uttara House Building. Later, police rescued them and sent them to the hospital.

Uttara police west police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Hafizur Rahman said that the two men were allegedly caught red-handed by a group of people and beaten. They were taken to Kuwait friendship hospital in Uttara. They are okay now.

The detainees were known as Nazim and Bakul.

Earlier a video of the incident went viral on social media (Facebook). The video shows the angry group of people hanging one of the suspected muggers, with his legs tied together, upside down on the overbridge, while some of them still beating him.
