Nahid Islam reveals assets 

Md Nahid Islam, the former Information and Broadcasting and Post, Telecommunications and ICT Adviser to the interim government, has revealed his assets. 

He revealed this on his verified Facebook account on Wednesday (February 26) night. 

Md Nahid Islam also attached a bank statement to the post. In his Facebook post, he claimed that he did not have a bank account before joining the advisory post.

He wrote, “On August 21, I officially opened a bank account in Sonali Bank to receive honorarium for performing my duties as an adviser. I present the transaction in that account from August 21, 2024 to February 26, 2025.”

Stating that he has no other account except the Sonali Bank account, he wrote, “Tk 10 lakh 6 thousand 886 was deposited in the said account. In addition, Tk 9 lakh 96 thousand 181 was withdrawn”.  

He explained, “During my tenure as an adviser, I or any member of my family (wife/mother/father) do not own any land or flat anywhere in Bangladesh or any was purchased by me or my family”.

Furthermore, he said that his private secretary has Tk 36 thousand 28 in his account at Islami Bank Bangladesh.
