Home Affairs Adviser, Lieutenant General (Retd) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, inspected four police stations under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) early Thursday (February 27).
He visited the Mirpur, Darussalam, Adabor, and Mohammadpur police stations in the capital.
Instructing law enforcement members to remain vigilant and alert at all times to maintain law and order, the home affairs adviser said, “The law enforcement agencies must ensure that people can sleep peacefully and move around without fear.”
“Officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs have been assigned to monitor the law-and-order situation, with an increase in the number of forces and patrols. Those disrupting law and order will be brought to justice,” he further said.
He added that law enforcement agencies are on high alert, with checkpoints at key intersections in the capital operational, and joint operations proceeding effectively. Police station activities are functioning normally.
The purpose of the inspection was to ensure that the police stations are operating properly, Jahangir cited.
