Young people float new party 

Students Against Discrimination has floated their party, the Jatiya Nagorik Party (National Citizens Party-NCP).

The name of the new party was announced formally through a gathering at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital on Friday evening. 

Nahid Islam and Akhter Hossain have been made the convener and member secretary respectively of NCP.

Meem Akhter, sister of July martyr Ismail Hossain Rafi, announced the names at the launching ceremony at evening.

Later, Akhter Hossain announced the partial of 151-member committee.

The event began at around 4:15 pm. From noon, students and people started to throng Manik Mia Avenue.  A festive mood prevailed in the area.

Leaders of many political parties including BNP-Jamaat participated in the event.

Ambassadors, high commissioners and diplomats of 51 countries stationed in Dhaka were invited.
