Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury sent to jail 

A Dhaka court has sent former Trinamool BNP Chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury to jail in a case lodged over the murder of Md Parvej Mia.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mostafizur Rahman passed the order on Friday (February 28).

Sub Inspector of Jatrabari Thana Md Nazmul Hasan produced him before the court after a four-day remand and pleaded to keep him behind bars till the end of the probe.

Parvej was killed on August 5 during the uprising and his mother Kaniz Fatema filed a case with Jatrabari Thana on October 29.

Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury was arrested from the city's Banani DOHS area on 17 October.
