Shilpakala Academy DG Jamil Ahmed announces to resign

Dr. Syed Jamil Ahmed has announced to resign from his position as the Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. 

He gave a resign letter to the Shilpakala Academy secretary at the closing ceremony of the National Theatre Festival on Friday (February 28). But, the Shilpakala Academy secretary said he could not take the letter.

Dr. Jamil Ahmed said, “I took office as the DG of Shilpakala Academy on September 9 with many dreams for the institution. I wanted to involve people from all walks of life in practice of art and culture. However, the Ministry of Culture has not extended the necessary support."
