DB to conduct ‘all-out action’ in Dhaka

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) is going to launch a special operation ‘all-out action’ ahead of the upcoming Ramadan to ensure security.

Additional Police Commissioner and DB chief Rezaul Karim Mallick came up with the announcement at a press briefing held at DMP Media Center on Saturday (March 1).

A ‘zero tolerance’ policy will be followed for any kind of crime and offender, he said.

Rezaul Karim Mallick stated that “all-out action” would be carried out against criminals in various areas to gain the trust of the general public. We also intend to become a source of fear for criminals.

“DB police have been working relentlessly to ensure security. They will keep vigilant in disguise at bus terminals, shopping malls to foil any untoward situation,” he said.

Highlighting the activities of the joint forces, the DB chief said, “Most of those who are committing theft, robbery, are between of 15 and 20 years. Many of them are members of juvenile gangs. Additionally, the fascist political parties are helping these criminals to engage in crimes.”
