Voters now 12.37 crore in country

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin announced that currently, there are 12,37,32,274 voters in the country.

He made the announcement about the total number of voters at the inauguration of National Voter Day in front of the Election Building in the capital’s Agargaon on Sunday (March 2).

This year’s theme is “In our Bangladesh, we will vote together.”

On the occasion of National Voter Day, the EC has organized a discussion session, while field-level offices will hold various programs.  

ASM Humayun Kabir, director general of the NID registration division, yesterday said that National Voter Day is observed annually on March 2, when the final voter list is published.

Earlier, on January 2, the EC had released a draft voter list.

The draft list included 1,833,352 new voters, bringing the total to 123,683,512.
