Inward remittances increased by 17pc in February

Bangladesh's remittance inflow has maintained an upward trajectory as expatriates sent $2.53 billion back into the economy in February.
This marks a 17 percent increase from the same month last year, when inward remittances amounted to 2.16 billion USD.
Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan revealed the information on Sunday (March 2).
Arif Khan said that expatriate income increased by 23.8 percent in the first eight months of the current fiscal year. Expatriate income from July to February of the current fiscal year was $18.49 billion. In the same period of the last fiscal year, expatriate income was $14.93 billion.
