Two members of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) police will be on-duty to each metro train to ensure security of its passengers.
Managing Director’s office of DMTCL informed this on Tuesday (March 4).
This measure is effective from March 4. There will be two police members in each of the train, and they will patrol inside the coaches.
A total of 20 police members will be on-duty in the running 10 trains in two shifts from morning to night.
Additionally, an adequate number of security personnel will be deployed at metro stations to address various concerns, including lost children, elderly passengers, misplaced belongings, theft prevention, and conflict resolution among commuters.
The MRT Police have been operating since November 2023 to ensure the safety of metro rail passengers and stations.
