The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a case against former Land Minister Narayan Chandra Chanda, also a former lawmaker from Khulna-5, for amassing illegal assets worth about Tk 1.80 crore.
ACC Assistant Director Rakibul Islam filed the case at ACC’s Integrated District Office, Khulna on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the case statement, Narayan Chandra Chanda amassed assets worth about Tk1.80 crore through corruption during his tenure as the MP for Khulna-5 and as the state minster.
The commission launched an investigation on 23 October 2024 after receiving a complaint against Narayan Chandra Chanda. During the investigation, it was found that along with Narayan Chandra, his wife Usha Rani Chanda had also acquired assets illegally.
