Saifur’s forced retirement: BSEC Chairman, commissioners confined

The chairman and commissioners of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), were surrounded by the commission's employees in protest against the forced retirement of Executive Director Saifur Rahman.
The incident took place around 12:00 pm on Wednesday (March 5).
To tackle the situation, additional law enforcers including army, were deployed in front of BSEC building.
Meanwhile, the employees demanded the resignation of the chairman and commissioners, and they surrounded their offices on the fourth floor of the building.
Wishing anonymity, a top official of BSEC said that there is also frustration among BSEC officials and employees with the current commission. One of the reasons for this is the bad behavior of the commissioners.
