Officers and employees of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) have demanded resignation of its chairman and commissioners.
If they do not resign, officers and employees of BSEC will go into a work abstention from March 6.
Executive Director Mahbubur Rahman made the demand at an emergency press conference on behalf of the BSEC Officers Welfare Association at the Securities Commission building on Wednesday (March 5).
BSEC Executive Directors Mohammad Rezaul Karim, Mohammad Anwarul Islam and others were present at the time.
Earlier, the chairman and commissioners of BSEC were confined by the commission's employees in protest against the forced retirement of Executive Director Saifur Rahman.
To tackle the situation, additional law enforcers including army, were deployed in front of BSEC building.
Later, with the help of army personnel, they left their office.
