US starts deporting illegal Bangladeshis

As per President Donald Trump's previous announcement, Bangladeshis are being deported, like citizens of other countries who are illegally staying in the United States.

Some undocumented Bangladeshis have been deported already.

Bangladesh is taking preparation to receive the illegal Bangladeshi immigrants if the United States deports them, a foreign ministry source confirmed.

Wishing anonymity, an official of the ministry said that an inter-ministerial preparatory meeting was held on Wednesday in this regard. High-level representatives from the Ministries of Home Affairs, Foreign Affairs and Expatriates' Welfare attended the meeting.

The inter-ministerial meeting was chaired by Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. Secretary Md. Jasim Uddin attended the meeting on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Foreign Ministry official said that Bangladesh managed to shelter millions of Rohingyas. There will be no problem in accepting thousands of Bangladeshis into our country.

Earlier, before the US election, Donald Trump announced that if he won, he would deport all illegal immigrants from various countries.
