HC orders to remove images of Magura’s raped child

The High Court (HC) has instructed the authority of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to urgently remove all the images of Magura’s raped child from social media platforms.

The HC bench comprising Justice Farah Mahbub and Justice Debashish Roy Chowdhury issued the suo moto order on Sunday (March 9), taking cognizance of a newspaper report.

Earlier, Barrister Mahsib Hossain brought the newspaper report covering the rape victim child to the court’s attention. During the hearing, he urged the court to take necessary measures to protect the child’s health.

On Saturday, the girl was transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) following deterioration of her physical condition.

On Wednesday (March 5), the 8-year-old child was raped at her sister’s house in Magura.
