EC invites applications from new parties for registration  

The Election Commission (EC) has issued a public notification seeking applications from the new political parties to get registered ahead of the next national election.

According to the public notification, applications must be submitted by April 20 next.

If a party is registered with the EC, it can contest the national election with its own electoral symbol.

A political party that is keen to get registered must attach necessary documents with its application.

There are 49 parties who have registration with the EC.
