‘Economy is very fragile, situation like Gaza’ 

Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser Anisuzzaman Chowdhury has said, “Our economy is very fragile, a situation like Gaza has developed. For this, we have started to prepare a complete roadmap to reconsider LDC graduation. A committee has been formed to reconsider LDC graduation.” 

He made the remarks in response to a question from journalists at the finance ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat on Tuesday (March 11). 

He said, “We can apply for the reconsideration of the LDC graduation issue. The application must mention the appropriate reasons and what we will do. A credible roadmap must be given. We will go in that direction, but we must give a complete roadmap. The work on that issue has already started.”

Anisuzzaman Chowdhury said, “I feel fortunate for taking this responsibility. I may be able to do something at this critical time in the country. We are passing a crisis moment now. Regarding the situation in the country, the chief adviser said yesterday that the country is in a Gaza-like situation. There is corruption in all sectors. We have not seen such corruption and fragility in any country before. Although it does not affect our GDP growth, there is fragility in other sectors. There is no issue of hiding or stealing here”.
