Magura child is in critical condition, army seeks prayers

The physical condition of the 8-year-old child rape victim from Magura has further deteriorated. She is currently undergoing treatment at the PICU of the Children's Department of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.

Bangladesh Army sought prayers for the victim through a Facebook post on Wednesday night (March 12).

"The child is undergoing treatment at the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of the Paediatric Department at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka. Necessary tests are being conducted daily as per standard ICU protocols, and the highest level of medical care is being provided," ISPR said.

According to the post, the child suffered four cardiac arrests on Wednesday and was stabilised through CPR.

"Due to a salt imbalance in her blood, dialysis is being performed, and her blood pressure is critically low at 60/40 and continuing to drop," according to the statement.

Earlier, the child was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka in critical condition at 6 pm on March 8.
