No security risk centering Eid, Independence Day

Senior Secretary of the Home Ministry Nasimul Ghani has said that there is no security threat centering Independence Day and Eid-ul-Fitr.

Nasimul Ghani made the remarks while talking to newsmen after a meeting on law and order and security measures ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr and Independence Day on Sunday.

The government has taken extensive security and logistical measures during Ramadan, and ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr and Independence Day on 26 March.

Asked about security threats surrounding March 26, Ghani replied, "At present, I do not see any security risks."

Authorities have also taken steps to curb extortion and street crimes in transport hubs.

The meeting also addressed concerns about theft and burglary during Eid, when many residents leave Dhaka.
