US Senator Gary Charles arrives in Dhaka tonight

US Democratic Senator Gary Charles Peters, also chairman of arms purchasing committee of US Senate, will arrive in Dhaka tonight (Monday) for a one-day tour.

The Senator will hold separate meetings with the chiefs of three armed forces – army, navy and air force – as well as Foreign Affairs Adviser Touhid Hossain.

According to reports, during the meeting with military service chiefs, the proposal of purchasing US weapons could be raised. He could also discuss bilateral security cooperation.
