Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain
Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain has alleged that the comments made by US Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard in the Indian media regarding the persecution of minorities in Bangladesh and the Islamic Khilafat are serious.
The foreign ministry’s stance is same to the statement of Chief Adviser’s Office. Tulsi Gabbard’s comments are serious, he said.
The adviser made the allegation while talking to newsmen at the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday (March 18).
Bangladesh’s interim government has strongly rejected remarks by US Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard, calling her allegations of religious persecution and terrorist threats in the country “misleading” and damaging to its global reputation.
In an interview with NDTV World on Monday, Gabbard said the United States was ‘deeply concerned’ about the situation in Bangladesh, referring to the alleged persecution of religious minorities.
She also claimed that the ‘threat of Islamic terrorists’ in the country was ‘rooted’ in an alleged ambition to establish an Islamist Khilafa.”
