Umrah visas not closed for Bangladeshis, advice to contact Saudi agents

Umrah visas for Bangladeshis have not been closed. The Saudi government has advised Bangladeshi agency representatives to contact Saudi Arabia's Umrah agents.

Bangladeshi agency representatives have been advised to collect information on hotel booking, air ticket, etc. 

Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain gave this advice at a press conference on the complications of Umrah visas at the Secretariat on Tuesday (March 18).

The adviser said that immediately after being informed that visas were not being issued to Umrah pilgrims from this country, the Ministry of Religious Affairs contacted the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka and made a a verbal request to continue the visa issuance process. Later, on March 13, the Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs gave a DO letter to the Ambassador of the Saudi Embassy in Dhaka regarding the continuation of the visa issuance process. In addition, the Secretary is continuously maintaining contact with the Saudi Ambassador over the telephone and mobile phone in this regard.
