Consensus commission to begin talks with political parties today

The National Consensus Commission (NCC) will begin discussions today with political parties with an aim to form a national consensus on state reform.

The first meeting in this series will be held with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) at 3:00pm on Thursday (March 20) in the LD Hall of the National Parliament.

This was confirmed in a press release issued by NCC.

According to the press release, schedules for discussions with other parties will be announced gradually.

As of yesterday, 15 out of 37 political parties have submitted their opinions to the NCC.

The commission also noted that 14 other parties, including BNP, Jamaat, and the National Citizen Party, are expected to submit their opinions in the coming days.

On March 6, the NCC sent spreadsheets with key recommendations from various reform commissions to 37 political parties. These parties were asked to respond by March 13.
