Bangladesh will not accept cantonment’s interference in politics: Hasnat

Hasnat Abdullah, an organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP) for the southern region, has said that politics of Bangladesh after July uprising will not accept the cantonment’s interference.

He said, “The politics of post-24 Bangladesh will not accept interference from the cantonment. Those who work in the cantonment should stay there. We have full trust and support in the Bangladesh Army.” 

Hasnat Abdullah said this at a protest rally organized in Shahbagh in the capital on Saturday (March 22) demanding a ban on the Awami League. 

At this time, one of the leaders said, “There is no precedent anywhere in the world where those who escape during the uprising are given the opportunity to run again. We do not want the Awami League will be banned by any executive order. We have demanded that the Awami League will be banned after judging all the genocides, disappearances, and crimes committed by the Awami League.” 

Hasnat said, “No Awami League will be rehabilitated on Bangla soil. Indian hegemony will not be allowed to enter Bangladesh again. We are not against any institution. Rather, we are in favor of rebuilding the institutions that the Awami League has destroyed.”
