Court orders to seize assets of Shakib Al Hasan

A court in Dhaka has ordered to seize the assets of Shakib Al Hasan, national cricketer and former Awami League lawmaker in a cheque dishonor case.
Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman passed the order on Monday (March 24).
According to the case statement, Md. Shahibur Rahman, a relationship officer at the private IFIC Bank, filed the case with the court against four people including Shakib Al Hasan on December 15 last year.
The other accused are - Shakib Al Hasan Agro Farm's Managing Director Gazi Shahgir Hossain, Director Imdadul Haque and Malaikar Begum.
Shakib Al Hasan is serving as the chairman of Shakib Al Hasan Agro Farm Limited. The company operates in Satkhira. In 2017, the company took Tk1 crore as working capital and Tk1.5 crore as term loan from IFIC Bank, Banani branch. Later, the bank converted the money taken as working capital into a term loan when it was not repaid on time.
