8 flower shops gutted in Shahbagh fire, 5 burnt

Five people have been burnt in a fire that broke out in eight flower shops in Dhaka’s Shahbagh area.
The fire originated at 9:53 pm on Saturday (April 5).
On information, five firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control at 11:15 pm, said Rakibul Hasan, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters.
Five people have been burnt in the fire and they have been admitted to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in the capital’s Chankharpul, he said.
It is believed that the fire originated from an electrical fault.
