One dies in fire at Bangshal bedding shop

A man died, and 17 others suffered injuries after a fire broke out at a bedding store on Nazimuddin Road in the old part of Dhaka early Monday (April 7).

The deceased was known as Aminuddin, 65.

Eight others suffered from smoke inhalation and are receiving treatment at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Fire service said that, on information, seven fire units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after a one-hour effort. Meanwhile, the fire service rescued 18 persons from the building and sent them to hospital, where the victim died under treatment.

DMCH police outpost in-charge Md Faruk confirmed the matter.
