Putin congratulates Hasina

Staff Correspondent, DHAKA, Jan 14: Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Sheikh Hasina on her assumption of the office of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for the third time.
Russian Ambassador in Dhaka Alexander A. Nikolaev handed over the letter of felicitations of the Russian President to the Prime Minister at her official Gonobhaban residence on Tuesday evening, PM’s press secretary Abul Kalam Azad said.
In the letter, Vladimir Putin extended his sincere congratulation to Sheikh Hasina on her reelection as the Prime Minister saying he is highly satisfied with the existing friendly relations between the two countries.
The Russian President wished good health and all-out successes of the Prime Minister in her office.
Awami League won a landslide victory in the January 5 polls by clinching 231 seats out of 300.
The 49-member cabinet, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was sworn in on Sunday at a gala ceremony at the Bangabhaban.
