Staff Correspondent: The US embassy in Dhaka has banned the Awami League lawmaker Shamim Osman for life term to travel to US as he has been recognized as the ‘Godfather of terrorism’, the embassy sources said.
The sources also said, the US embassy in Dhaka took such a decision as the ruling lawmaker was recently named in the US’s black-listed people.
Recently, Shamim Osman was not provided a visa for US.
In response to his visa application, the US embassy said, “Your application has been rejected for life term.”
The US embassy source said Shamim Osman had submitted an application asking visa to US some days after the Narayanganj seven-murder incidents.
“Shamim Osman’s visa application was rejected when he went for viva there regarding the visa at the embassy,” the embassy sources also confirmed.
