Lyricist Gobinda Haldar critically ill

Desk Report: Noted lyricist Gobinda Haldar, who wrote a number of songs during the liberation war to inspire the freedom fighters, is fighting for his life at a Kolkata hospital.
He has been kept at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Jitendra Nath Roy Hospital.
Everyday 5000 Indian rupee is being spent for his treatment and his family is now not able to bear the treatment cost, family sources said.
His family has urged the Bangladesh government to come ahead with financial support to save his life.
He has been suffering from old age and kidney complications.
Govinda is the writer of a number of celebrated songs like `Mora Ekti Ful Ke Bachabo Bole Juddho Kori`, `Ek Sagor E Rokter Binimoye Banglar Swadhinata Anlo Jara`, `Purbo Digonte Surjo Utheche, Rokto Lal Rokto Lal`, and `Padma Meghna Jamuna, Tomar Amar Thikana`.
