Illegal formalin holders to get lifetime

Parliament Correspondent: Parliamentary standing committee for scrutiny finalized ‘Formalin control bill-2015’ where it was said that illegal formalin holder will be awarded lifetime imprisonment.

Beside, Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (amendment) also finalized in the meeting.

With committee president Tajul Islam Choudhury in the chair, committee member Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed, Enamul Haq, Waresat Hossain Belal, Sanwar Hossain, Manjurul Islam Liton and Laila Arjuman Banu joined in the meeting at Jatiya Sangsad (JS).
 
According to the finalized bill, a provision was kept of life-term imprisonment as the maximum punishment and in addition Taka 20 lakh as fine but not less than Taka five lakh for importing, production/hoarding of formalin without license.

Senior secretariats, TCB chairman and other officials were attended in the meeting.
