Security at the central jail
Staff Correspondent: The law enforcement agencies have tightened the security systems at the adjacent areas of the Dhaka Central Jail on Friday evening.
The security has been tightened at the areas at around 7.15 pm.
Earlier, the Senior Jail Super Farman Ali of the jail has left the office saying, "I will not return today more."
But he returned to the jail around 7.30pm.
Earlier on Friday morning, two magistrates meet Muhammad Kamaruzzaman, also an assistant secretary general of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, at the Dhaka Central Jail to know his decision on presidential clemency.
Two magistrates Tanvir Ahmed and Mahmud Jamil entered the jail around 9.50am. They got out at 11:36am but refuse to talk to journalists, in this regard.
The State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, however, pointed that Kamaruzzaman might not be sought presidential clemency.
Earlier on Thursday, a five-member defence lawyers led by Shishir Manir met the Jamaat leader. Shishir Manir told journalists that Muhammad Kamaruzzaman would inform his decision about seeking presidential clemency to the authorities concerned in time.
State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal also said on Thursday, "The death row war crimes convict Muhammad Kamaruzzaman must take a decision within 24 hours whether he will seek presidential clemency".
