People to pay for NID card services

Staff Correspondent: In a bid to make correction, renewal, information scrutinizing and for getting lost National Identity cards, people have to pay from now.

The Election Commission (EC) issued a gazette notification in this regard imposing the new charge for those of the services.

The gazette notification was issued to the media persons signed by the election commission secretariat, Md Sirajul Islam, on Monday.

The orders in this regard will come into effect from September, this year.

As per the new rule, any person will have to pay Tk 100 for renewal of cards or Tk 150 for emergency delivery.

According to the new rule of the election commission, if the card is lost or damaged, the person will have to pay Tk 200 while for emergency delivery Tk 300 for first time, Tk 300 for second time while for emergency Tk 500 and Tk 500 for new one while for emergency new Tk 1,000.
