Govt extends time-limit for 4 rental power plants

Special Correspondent: The government has extended the duration of agreements to four gas-based rental power plants in the country.

Among the four rental power plants, the duration of agreements of Ghorashal 148 MW and Fenchuganj 50 MW has been extended for three years.

 

Besides, the agreements of Brahmanbaria 85 MW and Ashuganj 95 MW have aslo been extended for one more year.

But, production cost of the power plants have been reduced from previous times.

Fenchuganj 50 MW power plant is running under the guidance of “Energy Prima Limited” and three others are under “Messrs Aggreko International Power Projects”.

A total of 12 purchase proposals including the four power plants were approved in a meeting of the cabinet committee on public procurement led by Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith in secretariat on Wednesday.
