Mir Quasem Ali’s full verdict soon

Staff Correspondent: The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court is going to publish its full verdict on death row convict and Jamaat leader Mir Quasem Ali very soon.
Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) verdict upheld the death penalty to the Jamaat leader by International Crimes Tribunal-2 for his crimes in 1971.
After publication of the full verdict, Mir Quasem Ali will file a review petition against his death penalty. Lawyers of death row convict and Jamaat leader Mir Quasem Ali already met him at Kashimpur Central Jail.
On November 2, 2014, Mir Quasem was awarded capital punishment by the International Crimes Tribunal-2.
The tribunal handed down death penalty in two charges for killing seven people, including one Jasim Uddin, after abduction. He was awarded a total of 72-year imprisonment on other charges of abduction, conspiracy and planning. Four charges were not proved.
On November 30, 2014, Quasem Ali appealed to the Supreme Court against the death sentence.
