`Detailed Area Plans (DAP) to be reviewed`

Secretariat Correspondent: Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) and Cooperatives Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain said Detailed Area Plans (DAPs) will be reviewed to save Dhaka.
The Minister made the disclosure while replying to newsmen after the cabinet meeting on Monday.
He said, "There is no problem to research over DAP. Financial support can be managed from JICA or other development organization. Dhaka city will be uninhabitable within next 20 years. So, research on DAP is much important."
Khandaker Mosharraf also said that two organizations were selected to form terms of reference over Detailed Area Plans.
"The organizations are- Center for Environment and Agriculture Information System (CEAIS) and Institute of Water Modeling (IWM). They were directed to submit their terms of reference within fifteen work days," the Minister said.
Minister for Water Resources Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, State Minister for Land Shamsur Rahman Sharif and other attended the programme.
