Risha murder: Accused Obaidul held

Nilphamari Correspondent: Obaidul Haque (28), the suspcted murderer of  Suraiya Akter Risha, a class-VIII student of the capital’s Wills Little Flower School and College, has been arrested.

A team of police and RAB led by Ramna zone ADC Ajimul Haq held stalker Obaidul around 8.00am from Sonaroy Bazar under Domar upazila.  

Risha, a class-VIII student of the school, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, four days after she was stabbed allegedly by a stalker named Obaidul in front of the institution at Kakrail in Dhaka.

Obaidul waylaid Risha on her way back from the school and tried to talk to her the day before he stabbed her on the Kakrail footbridge near the school.

Risha achieved GPA (Grade Point Average)-5 in her primary terminal examinations in class-V and was preparing to do equally well in the Junior School Certificate exams this year.
