OC among 8 cops summoned in B’baria

Staff Correspondent: Sarail police station OC and seven others are ordered to appear before the High Court for violating court order.

The HC bench of Emdadul Haque Azad passed the order on Tuesday.

The police officials’ are- Sarail police station officer-in-charge (OC) Rupak Kumar Saha, Sub-Inspector Abdul Alim, Constable Shah Alam, Motaleb, Shahdat, Mahir, Karim and Mannan.

The court ordered them to appear before the court at 10:30am on February 5 to explain their role about the issue.

Lawyer Jafar Ali said that Moneja Khatun filed a case with district judge court against her former husband Salahuddin demanding expenditure in 2011.

Later, the court ordered Salahuddin to pay Tk.410,000. But, Salahuddin appealed to the high court and the review division of the HC issued stay order in the case on September, 8, 2016.

However, Sarail police detained Salahuddin on November 11, 2016 avoiding the court’s stay order.
