2 killed in ‘gunfight’ with DB police

Staff Correspondent: At least two people were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with DB police in the capital’s Rupnagar area early Wednesday.

The gunfight took place around 5.00am near the office of Water Development Board.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

BD Police claimed that they were snatchers.

On information, DB police took position in Rupnagar area. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the miscreants opened fire, forcing the DB members to back fire that triggered a gunfight.

Later, two bullet-hit persons were rescued from the spot and they were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctors declared them dead.

DB police also recovered two pistols, some local weapons and a private car from the spot.
