Youth killed in Jurain ‘gunfight’

Staff Correspondent: A youth named Md Mamun (30) has been killed in a ‘gunfight’ with police in the capital’s Jurain area.

According to police sources, on secret information a team of Detective Branch of police conducted a drive in the area to recover arms in Jurain graveyard area on Monday midnight. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the criminals opened fire on them, forcing the policemen to back fire that triggered a gunfight.

Later, the bullet-hit Mamun was rescued from the spot.

The injured was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
