Man held with gold worth Tk 75 lakh

Staff Correspondent: Customs officials seized 12 gold bars and 105 grams gold ornaments, worth about Tk 75.25 lakh, from a passenger at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka early Monday.

Mozaffar Hossain, a resident Kaliganj upazila of Gazipur, came from Dubai by Emirates Airways in Dhaka around 11:30pm on Sunday.

Dhaka Customs House said that acting on a tip-off, customs officials challenged the passenger but he refused the allegation. Later, searching the man, the law enforcers seized the gold from his pocket around 12:30am on Monday.

A case was filed with Airport police station in this regard.
