ACC seeks 7-year jail for Khaleda Zia

Staff Correspondent: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sought seven-year imprisonment for four accused including BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
Chief Prosecutor Mosharraf Hossain Kajal sought the punishment during hearing in the court of Judge MdAkhtaruzzaman of the Special Court-5 in Dhaka on Tuesday.
He claimed his team proved Khaleda abused power and amassed wealth behind the poster of Zia Charitable Trust.
On August 8, 2011, the Anti-Corruption Commission filed the case with Tejgaon Police Station, accusing four people, including Khaleda, of raising funds for the trust from unknown sources through abuse of power.
