Khaleda lands in jail

Staff Correspondent: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been taken to Dhaka central jail of the capital's Nazimuddin road after the Special Court-5 sentenced her to five years imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
Khaleda was brought out from the court around 2:50pm and taken to the jail.
There, two rooms in the ground floor of a three-storey building used as kid's day care for convicts' children were arranged for her.
Meanwhile, security measures of the court have been tightened around the jail. CC cameras were also set up around it on Wednesday. Position and patrolling of the law enforcers have been beefed up in the area over the issue.
Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of the Special Court-5 of Bakshibazar in Dhaka sentenced BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to five years rigorous imprisonment in the case.
The court also fined her Tk 2.10 crore in the case.
Alongside, other four accused including Khaleda'z eldest son Tareque Rahman were sentenced 10 years jail and fined Tk 2.10 crore each.
