Khaleda Zia not being appeared before court Sunday

Staff Correspondent: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will not be appeared before the court in Barapukuria coalmine corruption case on Sunday.

Khaleda's lawyer Sanaullah Mia confirmed the news on Saturday.

After visiting jail authority, he said, "Khaleda Zia will appear before the court through her lawyers on Sunday as BDR carnage case hearing is scheduled on the day. She is currently on bail in the case."

Hearing in Barapukuria coalmine corruption case is scheduled at the Special Court-2 in Dhaka on Sunday.

Earlier, the court asked the jail authority to take Khaleda Zia to the court on the day.

BNP Chief Khaleda Zia was sent to jail for five years as she was convicted in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on February 8.

Since, she has been confined at Old Dhaka central jail.
