Aziz, Mahbub receive Bangladesh Bank Award

Economic Correspondent: Dr Azizur Rahman, Professor Emeritus of University of California, USA and Dr Mahbub Hossain (Posthumously), former executive director of BRAC, received the 'Bangladesh Bank Award-2017' in recognition of their contributions to economy.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith handed over the award at a programme held at the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) at Mirpur in the capital on Sunday.

Each of the award recipients was given a gold medal, a Bangladesh Bank crest and a cash amount of Tk 2 lakh.

A jury board led by BB Governor Fazle Kabir selected the recipients for the award.

BB Governor Fazle Kabir and noted economist Professor Dr Quazi Khaliquzzaman among others attended the award giving ceremony.
