Question paper leakage: Edu Minister seeks help from all

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid

Staff Correspondent: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid sought assistance from all including teachers, guardians, students, educationists to stop question paper leakage.

He said, "Question leakage has become a big challenge for us now. But, guardians should be more responsible in this regard as steps to stop question leakage is not enough. Changes in examination should be brought. There are many guardians who don't want to accept changes in examination method."

The education minister came up with the assertion while addressing a programme at ATN Bangla Hall room in capital's Tejgaon on Friday.

Nahid said, "In 2015, we decided to bring changes in MCQ in secondary and higher secondary levels. But, many guardians expressed dissatisfactory at that time. They told me that their children may not get GPA 5."

Meanwhile, he emphasized on the importance of moral values of children than the better result of them.

"We will be more harder in the upcoming Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination. Although there would not be major changes in question papers but, we will try to bring changes from next year on the basis of opinion of all," he said.

He also said, "Some 156 persons were arrested on charge of question leakage. A total of 52 cases were filed in this regard.

BRAC Education Program (BEP) Dr. Shafiqul Islam presided over the programme where, Education Ministry secretary Sohrab Hossain, Nawazish Ali Khan, Adviser (programme) of ATN Bangla Nowjesh Ali Khan and others spoke.
