Two injured as wall collapses in Old Dhaka

Staff Correspondent: Two people received severe injuries as a wall of an old building collapsed on them while the demolition work was underway in the capital’s Old Town.

The injured are - Sawar Hossain, 30 and Sabuj Mia, 40.

Sources said that one of the walls of the ground floor of an old building collapsed on the two people around 10:00pm on Saturday while the demolition work was underway in Harnath Ghosh road of Chakbazar. Meanwhile, a yellow taxi cab also was damaged in the wall collapse.

Fire Service duty officer Ataur Rahman told risingbd.com that on information, three units of fire service rushed to the spot and rescued the injured people.
