Three militants held with arms, bombs in Rajshahi

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) personnel detained three members of banned outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi early Sunday.

The detainees are - Shariful Islam alias Sharif, 45, Jakaria Hossain alias Jakkar, 43 and Ataur Rahman alias Ahsan Hazi.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB conducted a drive at Jamira village under Puthia upazila of the district and arrested them along with two foreign made pistols, eight rounds of bullets, two magazines, four bombs and bomb making elements.

RAB-5 Commander Mahbubul Alam confirmed the matter to media.
